Hi, I’m Fiore, Co-Founder of Green Planet Expeditions. Born and raised in Costa Rica, my love for travel started early. As the daughter of a passionate surfer, I spent my childhood exploring the stunning coastlines and lush landscapes of my homeland. These adventures sparked a lifelong passion for discovering the world.

To turn that passion into purpose, I pursued a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Tourism. Over the past 25 years, I’ve built a dynamic career in travel planning, hospitality, event coordination, sales, and marketing. Along the way, I’ve gained a deep, hands-on understanding of the tourism industry. Earning an MBA in Marketing further sharpened my ability to craft unique and impactful travel experiences.

I believe travel has the power to transform. It opens minds, inspires growth, and creates connections across cultures. That belief fuels my mission: to design meaningful, tailor-made journeys that immerse our clients in the beauty of nature and the richness of global cultures.

My journey into travel began during a transformative internship, which sparked my passion for exploring new destinations. Under the mentorship of two influential leaders—one in Costa Rica and one in the U.S.—I joined forces with my dear friend Fiorella to create Green Planet Expeditions.

Our mission is to craft transformative, personalized travel experiences in the Americas and Antarctica (for now!). Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of designing award-winning trips, including some recognized by National Geographic Traveler. For more than a decade, I’ve created custom itineraries for high-end travelers seeking exclusive and unforgettable adventures.

Outside of work, I cherish early morning bike rides with my energetic beagle, Enzo, as well as exploring the scenic trails of Escazú with close friends. My love for culinary travel also extends to my kitchen, where I recreate dishes from destinations that hold a special place in my heart.

Explore our wide range of destinations and select the one that sparks your wanderlust. Unsure where to start? Reach out to us for personalized travel experiences or browse our pre-designed itineraries for inspiration. Any itinerary can be customized to your preferences.

2. Tailored to your preferences
Struggling with planning? Contact us directly or use our online form to share your travel preferences. We’ll craft a personalized travel experience and offer free revisions. For major adjustments, a $250 planning fee may apply, which will be credited to your final trip cost.

3. Secure Your Trip
Once you’re fully satisfied with your itinerary, confirm your trip with a 30% deposit. We’ll also assist with securing insurance and flights, ensuring a seamless experience.

4. Pre-Departure Packet & Surprise Gift
First-time travelers will receive a Pre-Departure E-Packet with your itinerary and a thoughtful gift. Returning travelers can enjoy exclusive loyalty program discounts.

5. Seamless final preparations
Finalize payment 60 days before departure. You’ll receive a final E-Packet with essential information, including 24/7 support contact details and dining reservation confirmations.

6. Your Journey Begins
Throughout your journey, we monitor your trip to ensure everything goes smoothly. If any issues arise, we’ll address them promptly to ensure your experience remains extraordinary.

7. Travel Insurance (Mandatory)
We prioritize your safety, so travel insurance is mandatory for all travelers. We recommend purchasing insurance within 15 days of booking for the best coverage.

When Grettel was 14, she still hadn’t seen the ocean. Living just two hours from the coast in beautiful Costa Rica, that might come as a surprise. But growing up in a large, close-knit family with limited resources meant travel simply wasn’t possible.

Everything changed the day a classmate’s parents invited her on a day trip to the beach. She still remembers the excitement bubbling up as they neared the shore—the sound of the waves, the feel of the sand, the salty breeze on her skin. It was the first time she’d seen the sea, and it opened her eyes to the beauty of her own country and the powerful impact of travel.

That one trip sparked a lifelong dream: to make sure other children, regardless of their background, get the chance to explore Costa Rica and create memories that inspire them for a lifetime.

With Green Planet’s Passport to Adventure, we’re turning that dream into reality. For every $50 adult contribution, Green Planet Expeditions adds 50% more to fund life-changing day trips for children in Costa Rica—kids who haven’t yet had the opportunity to discover their own country’s wonders.

Offsetting Carbon Emissions: Our Commitment to Regenerative Travel

At Green Planet Expeditions, we believe that travel should give back more than it takes. That’s why we’re proud to partner with the ICT-Fonafifo Carbon Offset Program—a powerful initiative that allows you to offset the carbon emissions generated during your trip, especially from air travel and ground transportation.

Through this alliance between the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) and Fonafifo (the National Forest Financing Fund), we calculate the carbon footprint of your journey and offer you a simple way to make your adventure more sustainable. Once we complete the emissions calculation, we add the offset to your invoice. Each carbon credit—priced at just $7.50—supports certified forest conservation and reforestation projects in Costa Rica.

Fonafifo has over 20 years of experience in the carbon market and ensures full transparency. Every traveler who participates receives an official Certificate of Carbon Offset, and Fonafifo reports the offsets annually to the national Climate Change Department.

This is more than just compensation—it’s regeneration. Your contribution helps protect forests, preserve biodiversity, and promote climate-resilient communities.
