Day 1 | Arrive to Belize, transfer to San Ignacio

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as you step foot in Belize! Upon your arrival at the Belize International Airport, our friendly local guide warmly welcomes you. We head on a thrilling journey (2.5 hours) deep into the heart of the jungle, where the magnificent Maya Mountains stand tall and the Macal River flows gracefully. Your destination? The enchanting Black Rock Lodge, nestled high above the river, offering an immersive experience in the untamed wilderness of Belize.  Once we arrive at Black Rock Lodge, get ready to be captivated by the awe-inspiring views and the serene ambiance that surrounds you. Our accommodations for the night will be in a luxurious River View Deluxe cabin, where you can indulge in the tranquility and marvel at the picturesque vistas.  

To ensure a smooth and safe travel experience, we recommend arriving before 3:00 PM, allowing ample time to reach the lodge before nightfall.

Day 2 | Macal River Canoeing and Xunantunich Mayan Ruins

Canoe downstream on the gentle waters of the  Macal River to the friendly town of San Ignacio, where a vibrant riverine habitat showcases a gallery of parrots, toucans, monkeys, iguanas, and other wildlife. Enjoy lunch in culturally diverse San Ignacio before visiting the Maya ruins of Xunantunich or “Maiden of the Rock. Ascend the dominant temple for a 130-foot view of the surrounding forest and ancient city. Explore with your guide, delving into ancient Mayan life through ball games, battles, and spiritual rituals. Return to the lodge for a tropical dinner amid the symphony of rainforest sounds. Overnight at Black Rock Lodge.  

Day 3 | Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave

Set-off on a 45-minute drive eastward to commence a thrilling rainforest hike, meandering through streams and traversing the lush expanse of the 6,700-acre Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve. Your ultimate destination? The awe-inspiring Actun Tunichil Muknal, one of the most remarkable caverns in all of Belize and one of the top 10 in the world.  This mystical Cave of the Stone Sepulcher held profound significance to the ancient Maya, dating back to the early Classic Period (300-600 AD). As you venture deeper into the cave system, a series of chambers unfurl before you, leading to a breathtaking crystalline cathedral of monumental proportions. Within this sacred realm, the Maya conducted solemn sacrificial ceremonies, immersing you in a world where the lines between the earthly and the divine converged.  Prepare to encounter a profound sight—a haunting glimpse into the past. Witness the remains of individuals who were sacrificed to appease the Mayan gods of the underworld. The echoes of ancient rituals and the weight of history resonate within the chamber walls, evoking a deep sense of reverence for the Mayan civilization.  Overnight at Black Rock Lodge. 

Day 4 | Horseback Riding to Big Rock Falls and Zip Lining Jungle Canopy Adventure

Venture into the rainforest on a delightful morning horseback ride, making your way to the enchanting Big Rock Falls. Nestled on the Privassion River, this hidden gem unveils a magnificent 150-foot waterfall, providing a tranquil oasis amidst nature’s embrace. After the invigorating horse ride, immerse yourself in the refreshing natural swimming pool, where the water’s temperature is always just perfect for a refreshing dip. Recharge with a delicious lunch and indulge in some leisurely swimming, savoring the serenity of this picturesque setting. As the adventure continues, a short drive takes you to Calico Jack’s zipline course, nestled into the side of the majestic Maya Mountains. Prepare for an exhilarating experience as you choose from an array of cable extensions. From 4 platforms and 1,000 feet of pure excitement to a heart-pounding journey across 15 platforms spanning an astonishing 2,700 feet, adrenaline will course through your veins.  Overnight at Black Rock Lodge. 

Day 5 | Cave Tubing and off to Southwater Caye!

Get ready for an unforgettable tubing adventure as you float through an expansive limestone cave system, meticulously carved by the Caves Branch River. Begin with a scenic hike along the river’s edge before hopping onto your tube and venturing into a vast cavern adorned with underground waterfalls, mesmerizing limestone formations, and an awe-inspiring crystal cathedral chamber.  Embark on a picturesque drive along the captivating Hummingbird Highway, leading you to the breathtaking Caribbean coast. Climb aboard a comfortable 30-foot motor boat and set sail for the serene South Water Caye Marine Reserve, passing by a series of charming sandy islands such as Coco Plum and Twin Cayes (boat transfer duration: 45 minutes). Please note: This boat ride may involve splashes of water. We recommend wearing suitable attire. Upon arrival, kick off your shoes, unpack, and make yourself at home in a cozy beach cabana situated on South Water Caye—a private 15-acre island nestled on the pristine Belize Barrier Reef.  Indulge in the beauty of the ocean views that greet you and stroll along the pristine white sands, just steps away from your door. Immerse yourself in a world of possibilities, whether it’s snorkeling, kayaking, or even trying your hand at light fishing right off the dock. Alternatively, you may choose to unwind and bask in the tranquility of the island, swaying gently in a hammock beneath the shade of swaying palm trees.  Overnight at Pelican Beach Resort South Water Caye. 

Day 6 and 7 | Belize Barrie Reef

Explore captivating coral formations and immerse yourself in the vibrant world of tropical fish during two half-day snorkeling and swimming excursions. As you explore the marine environment, guided by an expert alongside you, prepare to be amazed by the breathtaking variety of fish, hydro corals, sea fans, feather plumes, sponges, and sea cucumbers that grace the Belize Barrier Reef—the longest unbroken barrier reef on Earth.  After the exhilarating adventures, return to the lodge for a satisfying lunch, followed by a blissful afternoon of relaxation on the picturesque beach. The remainder of your stay is yours to enjoy at your own pace, with the option to arrange additional tours and activities through the lodge manager. For the adventurous souls, try a thrilling nocturnal snorkeling tour (not included), which offers a unique and unforgettable experience.

Day 8 | Southwater Caye-Dangriga-Belize International Airport

Enjoy a final dip in the warm Caribbean Sea before packing up and returning to Dangriga to board a 20-minute flight to the Belize International Airport in time for your international departure.  

Note: Your international departure must depart after 11:00 a.m. to allow time to connect with the local flight to Belize International Airport.
