Day 1 | Santiago de Chile

Upon your arrival in Santiago de Chile, be warmly welcomed by our guide and smoothly transferred to your hotel. Early check-in is included for our premium version guests.  Embark on a captivating half-day city tour, designed to unveil the historical and contemporary wonders of Santiago de Chile. This enriching 3-hour and 30-minute to 4-hour expedition begins along the iconic Alameda Bernardo O’Higgins Avenue. Our journey commences at La Moneda, the Government Palace, where you gain insight into its historical significance and contemporary importance.  Strolling through the vibrant pedestrian streets of Huérfanos and Ahumada, immerse yourself in the bustling commercial heart of the city. Our next destination is the renowned Plaza de Armas, the main square surrounded by architectural marvels, including the Metropolitan Cathedral and other historically significant buildings.  The tour continues with a visit to Santa Lucia Hill, the elevated site where Santiago was founded in 1541 by the Spanish. This lone steep rock adorned with lush greenery and an antique building offers a unique perspective of the city below. Crossing the Mapocho River, we reach Bellavista, Santiago’s cultural and artistic hub nestled at the foot of the San Cristóbal Hill, the city’s highest point within the Metropolitan Park.  Ascend the hill to explore the surroundings, soaking in breathtaking panoramic views of Santiago. Our journey concludes with a visit to Providencia, known for its top-tier restaurants, elegant shops, and modern high-rise buildings. Day 2 | Santiago-Punta Arenas-Patagonia Camp

Day 6 | Torres del Paine-El Calafate

Embark on a personalized and comfortable journey with our private transfer service from the lodge to El Calafate, traversing the scenic landscapes as we cross the Chilean border into Argentina. Anticipate a travel time of approximately 5-6 hours, during which you can immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring beauty of the surroundings.  Relax and enjoy the seamless transition as we take care of the logistics, ensuring a smooth and picturesque drive to your destination. Day 7 | El Calafate, Perito Moreno and Kayaking

Embark on an unforgettable 8-hour journey, covering 80 km on the 1.5-hour drive westwards to Los Glaciares National Park’s entrance and Ventisquero Perito Moreno. The kayaking adventure begins at 10:00 at Perito Moreno Kayak Experience’s Meeting Point, where our team welcomes you. After gearing up and a safety briefing, head to the water’s edge for a 1.5-hour paddle in Lago Argentino, offering spectacular views of the north face of Perito Moreno Glacier. Pause for a postcard-worthy moment, learn more about this captivating locale, and return to the dome at 13:00 for hot drinks and snacks. The kayaking experience is designed for a maximum of 16 people, with a minimum age requirement of 14 years old (accompanied by parents or legal tutor for those between 14 and 18 years old). Our cancellation policy prioritizes safety, allowing tour guides to cancel if weather conditions are considered inadequate. Clients will use double kayaks, grouped in pairs, and all necessary equipment is provided, including waterproof dry suits, thermal suits, boots, and life jackets.  Following the kayaking adventure, continue your exploration with a 2-3-hour stroll along the 3.5 km “pasarelas” vantage point walkways in front of the glacier. Marvel at the ice detachment phenomena, with the resonant sounds of falling ice and the sight of smaller floating glaciers. Learn about the UNESCO-declared “Mankind Heritage Site” – Perito Moreno glacier. Day 8 | El Calafate-El Chalten

Embark on a comfortable and scenic 2.5-hour journey with our private transfer service to El Chalten, covering 220 km (137 miles).  Navigate Road Nº 40 until reaching La Leona, where you’ll turn left onto Road Nº 23 (paved). The initial stretch of the journey offers a desolate yet mesmerizing wilderness experience. Pause at “La Leona” alongside the Santa Cruz River, a historic waypoint for early sheep wool traders.  Transitioning onto Road Nº 23, the landscape transforms, revealing the distant Fitz Roy and Viedma Glacier, heightening the excitement of your sightseeing adventure. El Chalten, a quaint mountain village in Patagonia near the Continental Ice Fields, awaits at an elevation of 350 meters (1,149 feet). Recognized as the trekking capital, the town is nestled beneath the imposing peaks of Fitz Roy, soaring at 3,405 meters (11,171 feet), with Cerro Torre standing at 3,128 meters (10,262 feet) behind them.

During the summer months (December to March), trekkers converge to explore the myriad lagoons, lakes, glaciers, and mountains. The Patagonian steppe surrounding El Chalten is inhabited by diverse wildlife, including guanacos, foxes, partridges, pumas, deer, and rheas, freely roaming across the vast steppes.  Cap off your arrival day with a 7 pm briefing led by your trekking guide, setting the stage for the adventures planned over the next two days. Day 9 | El Chalten, Cerro Torre Valley Day Hike-Los Glaciares National Park

Embark on a captivating day hike through the Cerro Torre Valley in the heart of Los Glaciares National Park, offering an easy-to-moderate difficulty level for an immersive experience. The journey spans 6 to 7 hours, covering 13 miles and gaining an elevation of 826 meters/2,709 feet).  This trail leads to Torre Lake, situated at an elevation of 826 meters, offering a close-up view of the slender formations that constitute Cerro Torre and its neighboring wonders, including Egger (2,850 meters/9,350 feet) and Stanhardt spires (2730 meters/8,956 feet). Cerro Torre’s granite spire is crowned by a perilous cap of ice, creating a truly awe-inspiring spectacle.  The hike meanders through beech forests, bogs, and shrublands, providing a diverse and scenic backdrop. Upon reaching Torre Lake, weather permitting, marvel at the proximity of the glacier and witness the breathtaking shapes of Cerro Torre and its surrounding peaks. The trail continues to Laguna Torre, nestled amidst moraines, with Glacier Grande calving on its west side. The coast of the lagoon often features icebergs gracefully drifting in the wind.  Gaze upon the thin and elegant 3,128meter/10,262 feet Cerro Torre group, complemented by the Adela range in the background of the vast continental ice fields. This day hike promises a spectacular encounter with nature’s grandeur, offering a close connection with the unique beauty of the Cerro Torre Valley. Overnight at Hosteria El Puma.

Day 10 | El Chalten, Laguna de los Tres & Fitz Roy Base Camp

A full-day trekking takes you to Rio Blanco Base Camp and the iconic Laguna de los Tres vantage point in Los Glaciares National Park. This moderate-to-difficult trek spans 7 to 9 hours, covering 11 miles and gaining an elevation of 568 meters to 1180 meters (1,875 to 3,894 feet).  As you traverse native lenga tree forests, the trek leads to the Rio Blanco Base Camp and the Laguna de los Tres vantage point. Weather permitting, this vantage point offers a breathtaking view of the complete Fitz Roy massif. The jagged ensemble includes Mt. Guillaumet (2579 meters – 8,511 feet), St. Exupery (2558 meters – 8,441 feet), Mermoz (2732 meters 9,015 feet), Juarez, and other imposing peaks. Across a small glacial lake, the majestic Mt. Fitz Roy (3,375 meters – 11,138 feet) rises, presenting an almost two-mile vertical wall in a single awe-inspiring ascent.  For those with additional energy, a further walk leads to the Piedras Blancas glacier (568 meters – 1,875 feet). The majority of today’s hike is of moderate difficulty, winding through native lenga tree forests. The final hour to the viewing point is marked by a challenging ascent (1180 meters – 3,894 feet), steep and somewhat difficult, with sizable loose blocks along the path. However, weather permitting, the panoramic view from this elevation is truly worth the effort, potentially becoming one of the standout highlights of our Patagonia expedition. Day 11 | El Chalten-Calafate-Ushuaia Tierra del Fuego National Park

Embark on a scenic 3-hour drive for your transfer to El Calafate airport, followed by a 1-hour and 15-minute flight to Ushuaia. Upon your arrival, our seamless transfer service takes you to your hotel.  In the afternoon, indulge in a half-day visit to the breathtaking Tierra del Fuego National Park. With a difficulty level rated as low, the suggested clothing includes a waterproof jacket, fleece jacket, waterproof walking shoes/trainers with good traction, and a hat or cap. Don’t forget your sunglasses to enhance your exploration experience.  Established in 1960 to safeguard the southernmost forests of the Beagle Channel and Argentina, Tierra del Fuego National Park sprawls across 69,000 hectares. While this tour is among the most popular, we offer a distinctive experience by leading our guests in small groups along unexplored trails that unveil hidden corners of the forest.  Our journey starts on National Route No. 3, departing from the city center and covering approximately 12 km (7.5 miles) until we reach the Tierra del Fuego National Park. The trek takes us towards the Mirador de Bahia Lapataia, where we encounter the sign marking the terminus of national route N° 3 and the distance to its opposite end in the city of La Quiaca, province of Jujuy, bordering Bolivia.  Throughout our exploration, we traverse various forest trails, providing glimpses of the unique fauna and flora of the Patagonian region. Unlike other Andean-Patagonian parks, Tierra del Fuego National Park boasts coastal forests along the Beagle Channel, generating bays of singular beauty, such as Lapataia Bay, translating to “wooded bay” or “bay of good wood” in the Yámana language. Day 12 | Ushuaia-Harberton Estancia, Zodiac Boat tour to Penguin Colony

Embark on a captivating 10-hour excursion to Harberton, combining the charm of Tierra del Fuego’s oldest estancia, a thrilling trek, and an encounter with graceful Magellanic and Gentoo penguins. Ensure your comfort with water, comfortable shoes, a raincoat, and sunglasses.  Our journey begins in the morning, tracing National Route 3 until its intersection with “J” Route. Turning into the coastal zone along Lasifashaj’s river valley, we follow the route almost to the mouth of the Beagle Channel in Brown Bay. Arriving at Harberton Estancia, the oldest in Tierra del Fuego, you are warmly welcomed by the estate manager, a descendant of its founders. Explore the historic country house, delving into its rich history of wool activity.  Next, we embark on a Zodiac boat to visit a vast colony of Magellanic and Gentoo penguins. Respectfully ramble around these gracious seabirds, gaining insights into their lives and conservation efforts. Returning to the ranch, we will venture to Cambaceres Bay, commencing a trek along the coast of the Lasifashaj River to discover isolated spots, culminating at a rugged waterfall formed by the narrowing of the river valley. Finally, our journey takes us to Puerto Almanza, the southernmost fishing port in Argentina, wrapping up a day filled with exploration, wildlife, and the rich history of Tierra del Fuego. Day 13 | Ushuaia-Buenos Aires, Half day City Tour

A half-hour transfer takes you to Ushuaia airport for the approx. 3.5-hour flight to Buenos Aires. Upon your arrival in the bustling capital, meet your dedicated guide and smoothly transfer to your hotel, nestled in the vibrant Palermo neighborhood. Your accommodation in this chic and cultural district sets the stage for an immersive experience in Buenos Aires. Day 14 | Buenos Aires-Departure, Half day City Tour

Embark on a captivating half-day city tour, immersing yourself in the vibrant tapestry of Buenos Aires’ most iconic sights. Traverse the narrow streets of the old city and witness the expansive avenues that narrate the tale of the city’s modern growth. Our journey unfolds on 9 de Julio Avenue, South America’s widest avenue, where the renowned Colon Theater and the striking “Obelisco” capture your attention.  Around the historic “Plaza de Mayo” (May Square), absorb the rich history of the “Casa Rosada” (Pink House), home to the legendary balcony from which Evita addressed the people. Explore the Cathedral, housing the mausoleum of General San Martín, Argentina’s independence hero, and the imposing “Cabildo” (Town Hall). We progress along May Avenue, connecting “Plaza de Mayo” to the Congress, adorned with Art Nouveau buildings, historic hotels, theaters, and cafes.

Venture into the bohemian neighborhood of San Telmo, adorned with cobblestone streets, artists, and antique shops. Pass through Dorrego Square, host to a bustling antique fair every Sunday. The colorful tenements of La Boca beckon, and we stroll along the iconic street of “Caminito,” a haven for artists and studios.  Our exploration continues in Puerto Madero, the rejuvenated port area with its modern residential developments, design hotels, chic restaurants, and exclusive apartments. Heading north, pause at San Martín Square, surrounded by elegant French architecture, marking one of Buenos Aires’ most aristocratic areas.  The traditional neighborhood of Palermo unfolds, with its expansive parks, rose gardens, and lakes, cherished by locals for sports and leisurely walks. Conclude our tour in Recoleta, home to South America’s most opulent and extraordinary cemetery, the final resting place of Eva Peron.  Benefit from a late check-out at your, ensuring you savor every moment of your stay. The best time to visit Patagonia is a matter of personal preference. If you prioritize warm weather and outdoor activities, mid-November to March is ideal. If you prefer fewer crowds and a more peaceful experience, April to October might be better choices.
